The article on the OCCPS’ investigation of Don MacNeil’s actions in a domestic dispute to determining whether or not he should be removed from the Police Services Board rightly points out that a police services board member should be held to a higher standard than an ordinary citizen.
Considering that standard, anyone charged with an offence by the Barrie Police Services, put in jail, later released on bail, should be enough evidence that a wrong was committed.
The Barrie Police Services have better things to do than charge an innocent person.
It always amazes me that in cases of domestic disputes, the victim – whether male or female – seems to be victimized even further, due to the many concessions one must make to accommodate the perpetrator.
There is something wrong with this picture and I sincerely hope that the OCCPS recogizes this, so that natural justice can be served.
I, for one, do not wish to have anyone facing domestic dispute charges working on my behalf and on behalf of our valued Barrie Police Services officers.
