Funding for francophone initiatives

February 05, 2010 12:02

LAFONTAINE – Two projects that celebrate local francophone culture have received funding to boost their profile.
La Meute Culturelle de Lafontaine is the recipient of $12,850 from the North Simcoe Community Futures Development Corporation as part of its Rural Communities Development Fund. The money will be used to create a marketing plan for Le Festival du Loup and the Living Museum in Lafontaine, and also to hire an intern to work in marketing these two initiatives for the next two months.
“This is an important contribution for the festival and the museum,” Martin Lalonde, president of La Meute Culturelle de Lafontaine, stated in a press release. “There has always been a gap in our marketing plan. Up until now, our organizing committee assumed the responsibilities of our marketing strategies.”
Marc-André Belcourt of Lafontaine has been hired to look after the marketing of the two projects.
For more information about the festival or the museum, call Lalonde at 533-3200 or Élise Robitaille at 533-3818, or visit www.festivalduloup.on.ca.
