BARRIE - Reel Stories presented by the Barrie Film Festival will light up the big screen downtown this weekend.
The festival will feature six films: The Young Victoria, Prom Night in Mississippi, Mary and Max, Coco Avant Chanel, Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould and The ‘R’ Word. All films will be show at the Imperial Cinemas, 55 Dunlop St. W.
Reel Stories also has a number of special events lined up for the weekend. On Sunday, the festival will welcome Michélle Hozer, co-director of Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould for the screening of her film at noon.
Also on Sunday, producer Doria Rajan and director Pierre Tetrault will be on hand for the screening of their film, The ‘R’ Word at 2:30 p.m.
A post film reception will be held at the MacLaren Art Centre. The event will include refreshments, a meet and chat with the producer and director of the film. Guests will also get a chance to see the Photosenstive exhibit, featuring black and white photos of people with an intellectual disability.
Tickets for the festival are $9 per film, and are available now online and at the MacLaren Art Centre, Tourism Barrie office in the Southshore Community Centre, and TicketBreak on Welham Road (service fees apply). Tickets will be available at the door.
