BARRIE - Campus Gallery lecture
The Georgian College Campus Gallery’s Artist Lecture Series welcomes Kim Dorland on Feb. 10 at 10:30 a.m. Lecture takes place in D Building, the Helen and Arch Brown Centre for the Visual Arts.
Choral Workshop 2010
The South Simcoe Arts Council will host its Choral Workshop 2010 on April 10 between 9:20 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Gibson Centre, 63 Tupper St. W., Alliston. The cost is $30 per person, and includes the workshop, music, a light lunch, snack and water. The registration deadline is Feb. 12. For more information, click here.
Red Door Variety Show
The Gilda’s Club Red Door Variety Show will be held Feb. 27 at the Georgian College Theatre. This year’s event features The Fab Four, doctor band Code Blue, Barrie’s Dancing with the Stars and the Ontario Fire Service Pipes and Drums. Tickets are $50 for side pod sitting, hors d’oeuvres and dessert, $75 for general sitting, hors d’oeuvres and dessert, or $150 for a three-course pre-show dinner in the Georgian Dining Room with entertainment, front of house seating, hors d’oeuvres and dessert. Pre-show dinner starts at 5 p.m., hors d’oeuvres are at 6:30 p.m. and showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available here.
Choral Festival Concert
Four local choirs are teaming up for a choir festival concert on March 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Hi-Way Pentecostal Church. The festival will feature Lyrica Chamber Choir, Bravado!, King Edward Choir and the Eastview Concert Choir, all under the direction of guest conductor John Tuttle. Music At St. Andrew’s
The Music At St. Andrew’s organ music series welcomes organist/pianist Marilyn Ressor on Feb. 17. Showtime is noon. Admission is $5, and students are free. St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church is located downtown at Owen and Worsley Streets.
