Snow removal could be better, says reader

February 02, 2010 15:02

Editor:

I am a senior and handicapped permanent resident of the Beach 6 area.

This area is about 90 per cent cottagers who do not come in the winter.

I think it seems like we are the forgotten area when it comes to snow removal.

A few of us are rather handicapped and have little dogs that need to get out. The snow removal has been really terrible this year, and some of the streets have not even been touched.

We have had to call every year since we have been here to have the fire hydrant across from our house cleared.

In the area right around the hydrant there are about six or seven permanent residents who would like to know that the fire department could get to the water if need be.

I really hope that some attention can be paid to this complaint.
