T-boning a massive, orange garbage truck on County Road 10 is not how I would choose to start my day, but I feel very lucky to be alive.
A few seconds difference or the freezing rain that had been forecast and I might not have climbed out of a destroyed car and walked away.
My husband has maintained my 20-year-old Dodge in excellent condition. That saved my life, as did the seat-belt that held firm. I didn’t hit the steering wheel or go through the windshield.
Much thanks to the Angus firefighter who was first to happen on the scene and did all the right things to help. I hope your team had a good hockey tournament in Whitby after all that excitement.
The Nottawasaga OPP, Simcoe County paramedics, Angus firefighters, and Jeff’s tow truck driver provided prompt and expert assistance. Thank you very much for your care and professionalism. The staff at the Essa Public Library Angus Branch were quite surprised to see their CEO walk in with a police escort. Thanks guys for your concern and support.
In that brief moment of impact, watching the front of my car buckle towards me, I expected to die.
All I can say is this: Fasten your seat-belts and live to tell the tale.
