Youth art will hang at Millpond to May 4

The South Simcoe Arts Council Festival of the Arts is welcoming young artists to its Youth Arts By the River exhibit for the eleventh straight year.

All students who participate will receive a certificate as well as feedback from the adjudicator, Andrew Dold. Awards will be presented in five grade categories and the recipients will be announced at the reception April 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m, at the mezzanine of the Millpond Centre. Kathi Wallace, a superintendent of education, will hand out the awards.

Along with the art show, a workshop on found object assemblages will be led by Paul Morin. He is an author, illustrator and musician known around the world. The workshop will be held April 26 from 9 a.m to noon in the theatre at the Millpond Centre, lower level, 106 Victoria St. W.

The art of school-aged children and youths will be accepted Sat., April 12 at the Millpond Centre and will be available for public viewing until Fri., May 2. This is a great chance for kids to be recognized for their artistic talents.
