ALLISTON - A smash and grab at an LCBO outlet in
Dufferin County has resulted in the arrest of five Alliston and
Adjala-Tosorontio men.
Last Wed., Jan. 13 at 1:20 a.m. Dufferin
OPP responded to an alarm at an LCBO outlet in Mulmur Township. Police discovered the front store window was smashed and a quantity
of liquor had been stolen.
Footage from a security camera captured
several people committing the crime the vehicle they used to flee the
scene. The descriptions were
broadcast to Central Region OPP officers.
About three hours later the broadcast paid
off as officers from Nottawasaga OPP located the vehicle at a residence in
Alliston and arrested one of the suspects. A second suspect was located and arrested nearby. Three more suspects have since been identified
and charged.
Charged with break, enter, theft and
possession of stolen property under $5,000 are two 18-year-old
Adjala-Tosorontio men as well as a 19-year-old, 20-year-old and 28-year-old,
all from Alliston.
All five are scheduled to appear in Bradford
criminal court on Feb. 18, 2010.
