Attempted murder charge for CFB Borden private

CFB Borden - A Canadian soldier has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an incident at CFB Borden near Angus last weekend.

Pte. Jorden Hardy was also charged with aggravated assault, assault and failing to comply with an undertaking or recognizance by the military's investigative arm Canadian Forces National Investigation Service (CFNIS).

Hardy was arrested by military police on Saturday at a home on the base.

The investigation service alleges the incident happened last Friday, Jan. 15.

CFNIS said it takes such allegations seriously and is conducting a thorough investigation.

No other information has been released.
