Alliston florist giving away flowers to spread goodwill

BY Staff   August 28, 2009 19:08

An Alliston florist is giving away free flowers to spread goodwill and friendship throughout the community.

Flowers by Lady Di will give away hundreds of free carnations at a special Good Neighbour Day event Sept. 12.

The flowers will be given out in bunches of a dozen, but store owner Ellen Szydlik is hoping recipients will keep one flower for themselves, and give away the rest to friends and neighbours.

The flowers will be available while supplies last.

There will also be a barbecue and fun for kids, with proceeds going to My Sister's Place in Alliston.

The event is also a thank you to customers that supported the business during the road construction at Victoria and Boyne Streets this spring and summer.

Flowers by Lady Di is at 158 Victoria St. E., at the corner of Boyne Street.
