Anniversary Events

Tottenham is celebrating its 125 anniversary this Saturday. A day of free events is scheduled in the community.

• 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. - Firefighters Pancake Breakfast at the Tottenham fire hall.
• 9 a.m. to noon - Games at the corner of Mill and Queen Street.
• 9 a.m. to noon - Days Gone By - A Look at Tottenham's Past at the old Tottenham Library, 18 Queen St. N.
• 12:30 p.m. - opening ceremonies at the Tottenham Conservation Area.
• 2 p.m. - South Simcoe Railway commemorative train ride.
• 9:45 p.m. - Fireworks display at Tottenham Conservation Area.

Also note there will be activities going on for children and adults all day at the conservation area including Lions Fest, a farmers' and vendors' market, petting zoo and pony rides, and the Day in the Life of Tottenham photo contest.

In the morning there will be a giant Simon Says game, baby contest and children's running races. Afternoon events include a Canadian Spelling Bee, bubble gum blowing contest, hula hoop contest, and an adult's watermelon eating contest. There will also be three-legged, piggy back and sack races and a shoe toss contest.

Live entertainment will be on stage, with the line up including local musicians. Performances include Little Fingers Music, a magic show by Frank Santangelo, Small Town Girlz and Dance Connection. Aaron Garner, Music by Jake, Dawn Shadow and Mirana Beattie, Michala Todd, Sean Bourke and Nicole Scott will also be taking the stage.

A shuttle service will be available from Tottenham school parking lots.
