Music to scare the savage beast

Nottawasaga OPP Report

June 29, 2009 17:06

Noisy Neighbour

A New Tecumseth resident got a visit from police for playing loud music this past weekend.

OPP were called to the house because of a noise complaint. When they got there, they found loud music coming out of an outdoor speaker. The homeowner told police he was trying to keep skunks away from his property.

The resident agreed to turn down the music after a warning from police.

Attempted Break-in

An Alliston resident interrupted three people trying to break into their home this weekend.

Police were called to a Cowen Avenue home after the homeowner spotted three people - two males and a female - walk up to the front door and try to open it. When they noticed they were seen, the three jumped into a car and drove off.

Police said the car is believed to be a blue Honda Civic.

Keep Animals Cool

Police were called to Angus Friday morning after someone reported a dog locked in a vehicle.

The caller said the dog appeared to be in distress. OPP found the vehicle, but the dog was fine.

Police are reminding residents not to keep animals locked in their cars on hot days. The intense heat and sunlight can harm or kill animals, and could lead to charges for the owner.

OPP received several calls this weekend about animals being locked in vehicles.

Not So Fast

A Beeton teen will be missing his car for a week after he was caught speeding on County Road 10 in Essa Sunday.

At about 3:20 p.m., the 19-year-old was clocked by OPP radar going 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

The driver was charged with stunt driving. His licence is suspended and his car impounded for seven days.
