Dad beaten for cutting lawn on Father's Day

BY Staff   June 22, 2009 18:06

What did you do to celebrate Father's Day?

Yesterday (Sunday) a Bradford West Gwillimbury man decided that a fistfight might be just what the doctor ordered for good old pops.

South Simcoe Police were called to his home after the 26-year-old man became angry with his dad for running the lawnmower.

An argument ensued that led to a physical confrontation, not just between the pair, but other family members too. As they tried to separate the two, the younger man threw a set of keys at them and spit on them. He also damaged a bedroom door by kicking it.

The father was taken to hospital, treated for minor injuries and later released.

Police located his son and charged him with assault, assault with a weapon and mischief to property.

He was returned to the South Division in Bradford and held pending a bail hearing later today in a Barrie court room.

No word on whether he got his dad a card.
