Jets take to the sky today

BY Staff   June 19, 2009 09:06

On Monday, June 22, two military jet aircraft will fly over the region as part of this year's Canadian Centennial of Flight celebrations.

The first aircraft, a restored 1950s F-86 Sabre jet called "Hawk One", is scheduled to appear around 10:30 a.m. in the sky over Alliston, followed by CFB Borden, Angus, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, and finally Barrie approximately 10 minutes later.

The second aircraft, a Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornet painted in a special Canadian Centennial of Flight commemorative colour scheme, will fly the same route in the afternoon beginning around 1:30 p.m. over Alliston.
