Special Olympics National figure skating team in town

New Tecumseth figure skaters are getting a special treat this weekend. The Special Olympic Figure Skating National Team is making a stop in town.

The team is taking part in a training camp at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex Fri., Nov. 28.

Saturday, the national team will be competing with the local skaters in a Special Olympics regional competition.

The competition runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat., Nov. 29. There is no cost to watch the event.

At 6:30 p.m. a dinner and reception is being held for the Special Olympics National Team at the Gibson Centre, 63 Tupper St., Alliston. Tickets are $40 an available by calling Trish Doran at 905-936-5180.
