That brings the squad's winning streak to ten in a row.
The first strike came on Thursday with an 8-2 win over the Siskins at their home barn in Stayner.
On Friday the Hornets left with a 10-1 win over Schomberg at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex.
The Cougars played a huge game the previous night winning 8-6 over the third place Erin Shamrocks in a fast-paced, well played game that gave the Schomberg team their ninth win of the season. They looked like a strong team on the ice, but the next night they were a completely different squad as they came up against the Hornets.
Sunday's game against Fergus was another high scoring match with the Hornets leaving the ice with an 8-2 win over the Devils.
"We started off the weekend in Stayner, in a snowstorm," said Hornets’ winger Chris Brown. "It was a solid performance but we're not really looking at how many goals we score each game or how many we get against, it's about getting better every game and preparing ourselves for something down the road."
As for the game against Schomberg, Brown said there's a big difference in where the game is played.
"It's really tough guessing what Schomberg’s going to do. Playing in Schomberg is a little different than playing here because their ice is a lot smaller so it's a different game. During warm-up we expected it was going to be lopsided when only half their team showed up. I mean they were probably a little gassed after the first period, and we have four have four strong lines consistently rolling, so we were sure to wear them down eventually."
Schomberg has had a string of injuries recently that sidelined several players.
The Fergus Devils showed up with a short roster during Sunday's game as well. The Devils have four sidelined players and netminder Gary Walser had no backup.
"We've played them with a full bench before and the last score was 8-0. It does matter but we've juggled the lines today too," Brown said. "We had a couple of hurt guys, with forwards playing D and rotating through. Having four lines really helps out. You have fresh guys against guys that are burnt out by half way through the game. Consistently pounding the team is really key. A good start really helps too. Tonight was four - nothing after the first. It really knocks the wind out of a team's sails pretty quick."
There won't be any Junior C Hockey at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex this weekend.
The Hornets will travel to Penetanguishene on Fri., Nov. 28, to face the Kings in a 8:30 p.m. start.
They then play the Midland Flyers the next night Sat., Nov. 29, with a scheduled 7:30 p.m. start.
The Hornets return to home ice for a two-game weekend on Fri., Dec. 5 to face Midland for a repeat. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Their second game is on Sun., Dec. 7, against the Fergus Devils. The puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
