The TNT Express Football Club wound up a great 2008 season with its annual general meeting last Thursday.
Of the four spots up for re-election, two were filled by incumbents with Robert Hinde and Bonnie Plaunt staying on as the president and treasurer respectively.
Paul Conry stepped down from his vice president of administration spot after three years of excellent work for the club and Lyndon Babulal will assume that role.
Robin McConnell, the promotions director stepped down and it was decided that this position will be split into three different jobs; promotions director, advertising director and sponsors director.
President Hinde commented that "Robin must have very large feet since it will take three people to fill her shoes."
He wished both McConnell and Conry much success in their future endeavours and thanks them for their dedication to the club.
The members lived up to the TNT motto of "Hard Work and Never Quit" with two hours of tedious but necessary constitutional amendments before the floor was open to general comments and suggestions.
Some lively debate ensued and many excellent ideas were put forth by the members. Notably Carl Andersen volunteered to spearhead the effort to obtain a Trillium Grant for the club.
New Tecumseth councillor Richard Norcross also dropped in to provide an update from the town on the progress of the Mel Mitchell fieldhouse project as well as development of more playing fields.
The new executive group will start working immediately, and will be considering suggestions made at the AGM in addition to seeking volunteers to fill the three new executive spots. Registration information will be published shortly for both the upcoming season and the winter skills camp at CFB Borden.
The club sent special thanks go out to the parents who made the effort to come out and show their support and voice their ideas to make the club better for all the players.
