TNT vs. Barrie
Nov. 1 - The Pampered Pet Lodge-sponsored TNT AA Rep team won and tied over the past weekend.
Barrie came out flying and promptly took a 1-0 lead. TNT settled down and Alex Rattasid (from Kyler Mathews) knotted the score at 1-1.
The second period was an even, hard-fought battle with Jakob Biffis potting the go-ahead goal assisted by Myles Douglas and Brendan Moore. Despite heroics by the defensive core of Andrew Ceolin, Lucas Smilsky, Sam Roberts and Kyler Mathews, a short-handed TNT squad couldn't survive a barrage of penalties in the third period allowing Barrie to tie the score at 2-2.
Nov. 2 - Still smarting from a tie against Barrie, the TNT AA Peewees journeyed to Markham Sunday and turned the jets on early.
Myles Douglas, assisted by Jakob Biffis, staked TNT to an early 1-0 lead. Although outplaying, outshooting and outwitting Markham, TNT couldn't find the back of the net again until Mark Stevens, from Blake Murray and Andrew Ceolin, made the score 2-0.
Markham didn't quit and several key saves by goalie Sean Caulfield kept the opposition at bay until there was less than two minutes remaining in the third period.
Trailing 2-1, Markham pressed but couldn't get the equalizer in addition to goalie Caulfield and a strong defence core, forwards Aedan Fida, Thomas Faulds and Brendan Moore, played strong physical games helping to preserve the victory.
TNT vs. Barrie
The TNT Major Midgets, proudly sponsored by Prudential Ronan Realty, continue to keep their fans guessing game to game. Unfortunately, they're not leaving the rink pleasantly surprised too often as yet. The Barrie Junior Colts came to play and the Tornados did not so after three periods, Barrie left victorious.
Oct. 25 - In their first journey to the Elvis Stojko Arena in Richmond Hill, the Major Midget Tornados were left spinning with two forwards short and the Stars hungry for a win.
Sending defensemen to relieve on the front end proved to be wishful thinking on the part as Richmond Hill took charge in the first period with two goals and two more in the second.
With just under five minutes left in the game, McCarron sent the puck from the point netbound and Kyle Pattison hammered the rebound home to break the keeper's shut-out for a final score of 4-1 in the Stars' favour.
Oct. 26 - Playing right after the Hornets' first loss of the season did not leave the Major Midget fans hopeful of a feel-good kind of night but that's teenagers for you.
The boys warmed up pre-game, put their game hats on and came out on fire. The Blaze lit up the scoreboard first but not for long when Fraser MacRae scored single-handedly. Back and forth it went from there and so did the scoring with MacRae donating a second goal helped by Kyle Pattison to tie it at two.
TNT scored again and Georgina answered and then at the 3:54 mark of the second period, Travis Westlake detonated a blast from the point and Sean Morley nailed the rebound home.
The Blaze scored two more after that to take the lead in the third period and then Tommie Warren created a scrum at the Georgina net and Sean Morley finished the job to tie the game with five minutes left.
The Tornados were on fire and nothing was going to stop their plight for victory even penalties which left them two men short with minutes to go. At the 1:35 mark, Ted Hoy intercepted the puck in Blaze territory and launched a torpedo high on the glove side to clinch the game for TNT.
Oct. 31 - You want scary? The Tornados played the last place Aurora Tigers in Aurora on Halloween and lost to them 5-2.
