The Diva explains

Want to learn how to 'cue like a pro?

October 24, 2008 16:10

The barbecue diva was in town recently to impart some of her wisdom.

Here's one of the recipes she uses.

Diva Q’s BBQ Rub

Ingredients:
½ cup        Brown Sugar
¼ cup        Coarse Kosher Salt
1 tsp         Seasoning Salt
2 tbsp        Sweet Spanish Paprika
1 tsp         Ground Mustard Powder
½ tsp         Coarse Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp         Lemon Pepper
½ tsp        Dried Rub Thyme
½ tsp        Chipotle Powder
½ tsp        Ancho Chili Powder
1 pinch     Chili Flakes

1 bunch    Fresh Thyme
Canola Oil

Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.

Feel free to add less or more spicy ingredients depending on your preferences. You can also reduce the amount of kosher salt.

Sprinkle the rub on top of the meat product, covering all sides.

Tie the fresh time with a string or elastic and use as a brush to paint the canola oil on the meat.

Grill it!
