Thousands join Facebook group to find Brandon Crisp

October 21, 2008 12:10

There are now more than 4,200 people on Facebook who have joined a group called Where is Brandon Crisp.

And the numbers are growing daily.

Many are friends or classmates, but there are also complete strangers sending their best wishes to the family, and offering to help in the search.

“My family and I send all of our prayers for Brandon’s safe return,” wrote Amanda Traynor in a post.

“I truly hope as a mother of three children, all under the age of six years old, that you find peace in the thoughts that so many are standing by your family at this time. I only wish that there were something more that I could do that would help bring Brandon home and to take away all your worries. We will continue to pray for your family in hopes that your son comes home to you very swiftly. Sincerely the Traynor- Riemer Family of Stratford, Ont.”

Others have offered to hand out posters in their Barrie and area businesses, or post them in their neighbourhoods.

The site allows group members to stay up-to-date on the latest information or see photos to help identify Crisp, including his backpack. Within seconds, members can be contacted about plans to search for Crisp or hand out posters in the area.

For example, the group’s administrator, Dylan Frankland, was concerned Monday’s rain may have damaged some of the posters, and asked for people to re-post when possible. One woman suggested putting the posters into page protectors before taping them up.

Facebook is an online forum where people can share pictures, feelings and ideas with friends or others who have similar interests. To join Facebook, a visitor must first register an e-mail address.
