October 14, 2008 23:10

Students were all cheers Thursday as they encouraged their schoolmates during the elementary school area cross-country meet at Wasaga Nordic off Blueberry Trails in Wasaga Beach.

About 400 students from 14 schools competed in the event, hosted by Birchview Dunes Elementary School.

About 70 runners competed in each division. The top 15 from each division will go on to compete at the county level at Horseshoe Valley on Oct. 22.
