After five games, last year's Schmalz Cup champs have scored 37 goals while only letting in six for the season so far.
Saturday's road game against Penetang ended with a 5-2 win for the Hornets.
The win in Penetang followed the Hornets regular Friday night home game at the New Tecumseth Rec Complex when the visiting Stayner Siskins were dismantled 10-1 in a game that included a third-period blitz that saw Alliston score three times in the space of a minute.
The win came on the heels of a couple of back-to-back road games the previous weekend.
The Hornets took a 7-0 win over Midland Fri., Sept. 26, the followed up the next night with an 8-2 slam over the Erin Shamrocks.
Stayner opened the scoring at 8:62 into the first period of Friday's home game, but 25 seconds later Kurtis Brossard tied it up after taking a pass from Jason Campeau across the front of the net.
Luke Vanderhulst put Alliston ahead by a goal midway through the period.
Hornets centre Ryan Algar got the first of his two goals early in the second on a power play when he tipped in a shot fired by Thomas Faris from the point.
Brossard got his second of night when he faked on a shot and Siskins' goalie Brandon Fox dropped to the ice. Brossard followed up and picked off the top right corner of the net.
The Siskins put Grant McCaffrey in net for the third period but three quick goals in 61 seconds gave the Hornets a seven-goal lead.
Campeau, Alex McTeer, and Michael Campeau got the points for the three markers.
Thomas Faris bounced one off the crossbar later in the third and a delayed goal late in the period by Jason Campeau wrapped it up.
The delayed goal came after the referees sight of the goal line was blocked and the linesman confirmed the goal after the next whistle.
Hornets centre Ryan Algar said the team stepped it up going into the second period.
"They came out hard in the first few shifts and had us back on our heels but Darrin (head coach Darrin Shannon) gave us a little talking to. He yelled at us after the first actually and told us to get going. After we started getting up a few goals, that was it."
Algar said that the team is feeling solid both in the front and in the back end but its still too early to see how the league will shape up.
"We're pretty safe in the back in this year. We can focus on offence as much as we really need to. We've got two good goalies back there. Our defence are all older and mature and they can get the puck up to us. Every team seems to be beating every team right now in this league. It's going to be a long tough road again for sure. We're very committed this year - very very committed. I feel as if we have a stronger team this year then we did last year, as far as being older and more mature, especially in the back end with our defence."
The Hornets travel to Schomberg to face the Cougars tomorrow (Thurs., Oct. 4), with an 8:15 p.m. start. They return to Alliston on Fri., Oct. 10, to take on the Fergus Devils. The puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
