TNT vs. Barrie Jr. Colts
Sept. 21 - Welcome back TNT sports fans. The 2008/2009 TNT Major Midget AA team is proudly sponsored by Marc Ronan Prudential Realty. Ronan has been with the team for many seasons and has been a faithful sponsor and supporter of TNT Minor Hockey for many years.
This year's team is headed up by a dedicated and knowledgeable coaching staff comprised of Neil Pattison, coach Mike Pattison, assistant coach Ian MacRae, trainer, Dave Moulton, Assistant Trainer, Don Hoy, manager. Thank you to all of you who are volunteering your timeto enable these boys to have this opportunity to play hockey at this level.
For the home opener the team was missing two players, Fraser MacRae and Matt Stuart both on the S&I list but that didn't slow the boys down.
The first period took off to a rousing start and TNT dominated keeping the puck in the Colts paddock for much of the time.
Scoring began in the second period with Barrie leading the charge.
TNT answered with our only goal of the game at the eight-minute mark courtesy of Joey Nieleszeruk.
From that point on, the game of hockey seemed to deteriorate. Penalties mounted on both sides leaving both teams shorthanded by two and three players at a time. The Tornados gathered momentum on many powerplays but could not land the puck in the net.
Barrie however, capitalized on a breakaway for goal number two and an empty netter to seal the deal 3-1.
