For a who's who of the equestrian world, the Wits End World Cup Qualifier is the place to be in September.
The world-class event is taking place Sept. 25 to 28 in Mulmur Township. Dressage coach and international judge Jo Young and partner Bill McKeen an international technical delegate and Equine Canada course designer, started the show five years ago.
The show is held on Young and McKeen's 60-acre farm where they have built a cross country course.
In its first year 12 horses competed, but last year there were over 80 competitors from five countries.
During the three-day competition riders are competing for $50,000 in prize money.
"It's taken on a life of its own," said Young. "We've got a trade fair and last year the parking lot was completely full with more than 1,000 spectators. We want to get more of the general public out."
Cost for the event is $5 a car, remember to bring your own picnic basket in. Parking is at 956345 Mulmur Concession 7, just west of Rosemont. Signs will be posted for directions on where to park.
