Shelburne native and Detroit Red Wing forward Aaron Downey is on the ice in his hometown for a charity hockey game Saturday.

Downey will be joined by fellow NHLers and local friends for the hockey game to support the House 9 Hockey Foundation. The game has the House 9 Stars facing off against the Shelburne Muskies Senior A team.

House 9 Hockey Foundation is a not-for-profit organization set up by Downey, Trevor Downey and Shawn Kilshaw in 2008. It helps provide children with the necessary sports equipment and fees required to participate in minor hockey.

The game is being held at the Shelburne arena. Opening ceremonies are at 7 p.m. Following the game a dance is being held at the Shelburne legion, with music by the Larry Melton Band.

Cost for the hockey game is $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for children under six. To get into the dance it is $10.
