Two good reasons to celebrate at hospital Friday

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is celebrating the official re-opening of its birthing unit this week and another milestone in the Alliston facility's history.

SMH has been serving the local community for 80 years. Fri., Sept. 6 a celebration will pay tribute to the anniversary. Festivities will include an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the birthing unit, which was re-opened April 21.

The community, current and former staff, physicians, volunteers and friends can attend the event. Activities start at 3:30 p.m. and run to 5:30 p.m. Events include a speech from the hospital board and dignitaries, tours of the hospital, children's games and light refreshments.

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is located in Alliston at 200 Fletcher Cres.
