Organizers said the event was another extraordinary day for 16th Annual Golf Tournament, Dinner and Auction fundraiser. It raised $313,278 for local charities.
The fundraiser was held at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort and featured 104 women in the ladies 9-hole golf tournament, 365 golfers in the 18-hole open tournament, 775 people at the buffet dinner.
Members of winning team of the 18-hole open tournament on the Nottawasaga Course were Faron Archer, Dave Payne, Keenan Orme and Ted Cooper. Doug Drysdale, Roy Pugh, Nolan Knill and Peter Scott won the 18-hole open tournament on the Ridge Course. In the ladies nine-hole event Karen Smith, Kim Shadlock, Luanne Hartman and Josephine Jones were the winning team.
Since the tournament started, it has raised $2,619,009.
Throughout the year, the Nottawasaga Foundation flows the money raised at the golf tournament to a variety of non-profit organizations in the community.
The main focus for this year's money is the birthing unit at Stevenson Memorial Hospital and the Banting Homestead.
Past recipients include area fire departments, Children's Aid Society, Community Living Association South Simcoe, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, plus many more organizations and service groups.
