It was toasting time with cups full of McFlurrys at the Alliston McDonalds recently.
Alliston and Angus McDonald's restaurant owner Rory MacKinnon (far left) held a fundraiser throughout the month of June with 25 cents from every McFlurry sold being donated to the Community Living Association for South Simcoe.
Joining him for the toast are CLASS executive directorVito Facciolo, fundraising co-ordinator Penny Downey and president Mary Munnoch. When the final McFlurry was served the two McDonalds had managed to raise $1,500.
The money will be used to extend CLASS’s Preschool Resources Program for children under six at risk or developmentally disabled throughout the summer months.
The program currently shuts down from June through August. It prepares the children to start school, and some find the break in routine during the summer months difficult.
