Residents of a normally quiet Tottenham subdivision were likely shocked this morning when they looked out their windows to see police breaking in the door of one of their neighbour's homes.
Nottawasaga OPP conducted a raid of a McGahey Street home at about 9 a.m. A police convoy of marked and unmarked cars pulled up to the 15 McGahey Street house and officers then used a battering ram to knock down the front door.
Witnesses said two men who had been living at the house were seen being escorted out by officers.
Amanda Graystone, 32, who also lives at the house was not home at the time. She later returned in a car while police were still on the scene.
A neighbour spotted her trying to leave, and officers apprehended her, according to a witness. A man that was driving the car was also detained.
In total, three men in their early 30s were arrested, as well as Graystone.
Police said they seized a variety of drugs from the residence, but have not released any names of the accused. Charges are pending.
The raid was conducted by the Nottawasaga Street Crime Unit, the Central Region Drug Enforcement Section and the Central Region canine unit.
Graystone was also charged July 4 with stunt driving/speeding and driving a vehicle without insurance. Police caught Graystone driving a black 2000 Hyundai Tucson 130 kilometres per hour on County Road 50, in a posted 80 k.m./h zone.
Her vehicle was impounded and licence suspended for seven days.
