If the big ticket items on the auction tables weren't reason enough to attend the Nottawasaga Foundation golf tournament, organizers have lined up a celebrity emcee.

Breakfast Television's Kevin Frankish is hosting the Nottawasaga Foundation's Annual Golf Tournament, Dinner and Auction July 18.

"We look forward to welcoming him to this year's event," said Lou Biffis, foundation president. "I'm sure with his personality, he will be able to captivate and entertain the event's guests and encourage them to reach into their pockets to support such an important cause."

This is the 16th tournament, and over the years it has raised $2.3 million for local charities and organizations. Each year the fundraiser supports Stevenson Memorial Hospital, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Community Living Association of South Simcoe, local food banks, and many others.

This year's event features a 45-hole open tournament and nine-hole ladies' tournament with an afternoon spa package. There are 10 hole-in-one prizes, a barbecue lunch and buffet dinner, all being held at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort on Hwy. 89.

Although the golf tournaments are sold out, people can still attend the silent and live auctions featuring over 200 items.
