A mishap involving a tractor-trailer created a king-size mess Wednesday afternoon in the southbound lanes Highway 400.

OPP Constable Dave Woodford says, during the noon hour, the flatbed was hauling moulds to be used in the construction of concrete sewers. He says the driver got on the 400 at Dunlop Street, and continued south in the shoulder lane, when he found his load was too high to clear the overpass at the 11th Concession of Bradford West Gwillimbury, just north of Highway 88.

The collision and the resulting spill closed the two right lanes and right shoulder, creating a backup all the way to Highway 89 for about four hours. Woodford said there were no injuries.
