Angus United Church is holding a euchre tournament Fri., May 30 at 7 p.m. Entry fee is $5. There will be share the wealth and refreshments will be served.

Come share your talent at Amateur Coffeehouse Night hosted by the Our Lady of Grace choir. Invite your family and friends to an evening of coffee, fun, fellowship and live music on Fri., May 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Our Lady of Grace parish located at 27 Centre St. in Angus. Refreshments and snacks will be available and donations are graciously accepted. If you would like to share your talent as a singer or musician, sign up is at 7 p.m. Original music is encouraged. A blood donor clinic is being held at the Angus Arena on Thurs., June 5 from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please call 1-888-2-DONATE to book your appointment.

St. James’ Clougher-Lisle ACW annual euchre and luncheon will be held in the hall on Cty. Rd. 12 west of Lisle on Tues., June 10 at noon. The cost is $8 and there will be door prizes and draws. Everyone is welcome.

The Angus Union Cemetery decoration day is being held on June 15. The service begins at 2 p.m.

There are now 31 days to go until the biggest celebration of the summer. Help the Angus Lions Club celebrate Canada’s 141st birthday at Community Park. The festivities begin at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast. After breakfast you will enjoy the Green Briar Male Chorus who are performing songs that will cover Canada from coast to coast. So come on out and hear some good old stomping music from the Maritimes or songs from western Canada. When the band swings into This Land is my Land there will be a parade of flags from all of the provinces and territories. All of these flags are gifts or on loan to the people of the Angus area from the government of each province and territory. Registration for the 2008-2009 Essa minor hockey season has now begun and will run until June 30 at the early bird rate.
