Horse lovers of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to head to Orangeville Sun., June 1 for EQUI-Fest.
For the second year, the Orangeville Fairgrounds will be the site of the festival. Organized by the Women Horse Owners Association (WHOA), they are promising the one-day festival June 1 will have something for every equine enthusiast.
“Lots of people just want to get out and enjoy time on their horse, without the pressure or expense of competition.
“EQUI-Fest is a relaxed event where horse lovers can gather to ride, shop, pamper their horses, and meet like-minded people. I don’t know of any other event like it,” said Elaine Capes, WHOA chair.
Canadian Equestrian Team member Frankie Chesler Ortiz and Show Committee of the Ontario Reining Horse Association chair Joanne Milton will be at the show to give advice and feedback to riders. A variety of equine professionals and practitioners will also be on site.
For horse enthusiasts the festival is a one-stop shopping day to get your horse’s feet done, buy a new riding outfit, or get in the saddle and play. Whether a beginner, or an old hand with horses, there’s something of interest. If you don’t have a horse, you are also welcome to come out and watch.
EQUI-Fest is a registered Equine Canada/Ontario Equestrian Federation Horse Week 2008 event.
Registration for horse and rider is $60 or $40 for WHOA members. For spectators cost is $8 or $5 for WHOA members.
The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information visit www.womenhorseownersassoc.com.
