Hockley "cougar" was likely a fisher

I read the article regarding possible cougar sightings in the Hockley area and were I a betting man I would suggest that the critters are fishers and not cougars.

When I lived up in the Kawartha Lakes I was jogging on this country road and an animal bigger than a cat with a long tail and black shiny coat crossed the road in front of me, and like the guy in the story I immediately thought it was a cougar or animal not indigenous to Ontario, because I had never seen an animal like it in all the time I lived, travelled and hunted in Ontario.

I called the MNR and the warden said it was a fisher and that many people like me believe it to be a cougar, because few people ever see them.
