On behalf of members of council we are thrilled to extend congratulations to the Alliston Hornets on their impressive victory.

It was an exciting game as the Hornets won game 7 in overtime with a score of 3-2 over Essex to win the OHA Jr. C Championship.

The overtime win of the Schmalz Cup Sunday night ends an historic season for the Hornets as it’s the first time the Hornets have won the prominent award.

It’s been an amazing season for the Hornets. We have thoroughly enjoyed supporting the team as they worked to earn the Schmalz Cup. It is with great pride and excitement that we offer our congratulations to the Ontario champions.

In celebration of the Hornets outstanding victory, the Town of New Tecumseth will be hosting a community congratulatory celebration in honour of the team at the New Tecumseth recreation facility on Sat., May 24. All are welcome to attend the event. Please watch the town’s website at www.town.newtecumseth.on.ca for details.
