The Alliston Hornets tied up the championship series after beating the Penetang Kings 5-1 last night (Sunday).

The Hornets got into penalty trouble late in the first period to put the Kings on a two-man powerplay. Kings forward Lenny Robillard took advantage of the situation, scoring Penetang's only goal of the evening.

The Hornets tied it up 36 seconds into the second period with a goal from Jason Campeau, assisted by Thomas Faris.

The scoring continued for the Hornets in the third, with Brandon Elliot putting Alliston in the lead five minutes into the period. Kyle McDowell gave the Hornets a two-goal lead 15 seconds later, with help from Faris and Campeau.

Cole Parker and Ryan Algar each netted a powerplay goal later in the third to seal the Hornets' lead.

Hornets goalie Jon Porretta earned the win with 28 saves.

Game 3 in the series will be played Wednesday night (March 12) at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre in Alliston. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the arena. They are $8 for adults, and $6 for seniors and students.
