Candlelight vigil marks World Diabetes Day

A large crowd gathered at the Sir Frederick Banting homestead Wednesday evening for a candlelight vigil to celebrate the United Nations World Diabetes Day. Sponsored by the Alliston Lions Club and the Nottawasaga Inn Resort, the crowd lit candles and sang happy birthday. Nov. 14 was also Sir Frederick Banting’s birthday. The event was celebrated at 150 landmarks at various countries across the globe.
