Banting Memorial High School will be walking to help fight diabetes tomorrow (Thursday). Students and staff will leave the school at about 10 a.m., walk to the Banting Homestead and back.Afterwards there will be a carnival on the football field behind the school. This year's walk is to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF is using research to bring about a world without diabetes and its complications. Ongoing research is happening in a variety of areas, and JDRF believes some combination of these holds the best potential to lead to breakthrough cures and treatments for Type 1 diabetes and its complications. For more information about the walk, call Sylvia Cook at Banting Memorial, 705-435-6288.
