A business in downtown Alliston is warning others to be on the lookout for a potential shoplifting team today.

The Alliston and District Chamber of Commerce has sent out a warning this afternoon after Dieter Elsner of Herbert's Western Boots reported suspicious behaviour by a man and woman in the store.

Security cameras caught the pair in what appeared to be an attempt to remove security tags from merchandise.

The couple hadn't stolen anything, but Elsner wanted to warn other merchants.

The man was wearing khaki pants and has a dark blue baseball cap. The woman was wearing a long, grayish-blue skirt and had a longer black coat.
