A magical act of kindness

On Saturday night I went to visit my mother at Stevenson Memorial Hospital and I witnessed a magical act of kindness.

In the midst of my mother and I exchanging conversation and details of our to-do lists, a melody of bright lights caught my gaze.

I drew closer to the window to get a better look and could not believe my eyes!

Like children in front of a toy store, patients visitors and staff throughout the hospital gathered by the windows with smiles of excitement on their faces.

In the parking lot of the hospital was the most beautifully decorated parade float, covered with multi-colored lights, garland, and people waving and shouting Merry Christmas.

The looks on the patients’ faces were priceless. I know this is a moment they will never forget.

I would like to thank Quality Firewood for stopping by the hospital to spread holiday cheer.
